Mini Grant Program

Our Mini Grant Program has grown, and grant recipients have been hard at work with creative projects, presentations, and enrichment programs for our students. Grants will be awarded up to $500 and must be completed by the end of the September 2012 - June 2013 school year. The deadline is April 20, 2012.

This is the Foundation's seventh year for awarding grants to innovative programs in the Haverford Township School District. In this time, we've received a dozens of excellent proposals. Some take existing programs to a higher level, others look to form partnerships in areas not normally associated. All of the Mini-Grants are fine examples of the excellence in education and forward thinking that makes Haverford Township School District the great school system that it is. We hope that many of these programs will be prototypes for District-wide programs in the future.

S. Virginia Murphy Special Education Grant

The S. Virginia Murphy Special Education Grant is designed to fund projects that are most likely to benefit special education students.

Grants are generally awarded up to $500, however, the grant amount may be adjusted due to compelling circumstances.  The project/program will be limited to the 2012 calendar year (January 1, 2012 - December 31, 2012). Preliminary grant deadline is November 3, 2011.  After the preliminary review, applicants will be notified for further interviews.  Applicants will be notified of our decision as soon as practicable after  December 15, 2011.

This grant honors S. Virginia Murphy, a devoted special education teacher of 18 years whose love of teaching and her students were the hallmarks of her career.

Oakmont PTO Grant Fund Program

Thanks to the generosity of the dedicated parents who supported the Oakmont school until its closing, the Foundation was able to establish The Oakmont Grant, specifically designed to fund those projects that are most likely to benefit groups of students that include Oakmont alumni/alumnae and embody the essence of the Oakmont PTO′s community spirit and its focus on the enrichment of the school experience for an entire student body.

A grant will be awarded up to $1,000 and will be limited to the 2012 calendar  year (January 1, 2012 - December 31, 2012). Preliminary grant deadline is November 3, 2011   After the preliminary review, applicants will be notified for further interviews.  Applicants will be notified of our decision as soon as practicable after December 15, 2011.
