The Haverford Township School District Education Foundation is the result of a vision held by a group of local community leaders who appreciated the school district's excellent reputation and wished to enhance the school district's curriculum and extra-curricular activities with privately-funded enrichment programs.
The foundation works closely with the school district, faculty and students, but it is an independent, tax-exempt organization. We received our federal 503(c)(3) status in 2005.
Under our mini-grant program more than $40,000 has been distributed by the Foundation for almost 100 innovative projects designed by students, teachers and involved parents. For the full list of mini-grants, please click here. The Foundation has also finished raising money for its first major project, building a state-of-the-art TV station at Haverford High School which is now fully operational. This project led to the district designing a new multi-media communications curriculum for the 21st century with a focus on writing across all media, including print, radio, television and internet.
Our newest initiative is our School Empowerment Grants. Over the next few years, we hope to begin providing significant grants to district schools for large scale projects or programs to create unique learning opportunities for students.
We dream big because our students and our neighbors deserve it. With your help, we can make those dreams come true.
